I’m Bhargavi Oak, currently working as a UI/UX Designer at iRoofing. I graduated from Academy of Art University, San Francisco with a Master’s Degree in Web Design & New Media in May 2020. I hold an undergraduate degree in Zoology from University of Mumbai, India. Yes, that’s right! Zoology!
While I admit it was a big leap in my career path, I have always been inclined towards the arts since childhood - creative as well as performing arts which gave me the opportunity to unleash my creative side and made me realize that this was just the tip of the iceberg. Don’t get me wrong, I am very much interested in science, but art still remains my passion. I wish to combine my knowledge in Science with the creative field of Design to whip up some innovative creations!
I worked for the Design team during my undergraduate college festivals, and that is when I got a hands-on experience with design for the first time. And I absolutely loved it! I went on to work as a Web Design Intern during Summer 2019 at Oyster - Branding, Communications & Design, an agency based in Mumbai, India. It was an insightful learning experience! I had the opportunity to redesign their company website where I developed a new visual style, upgraded the website to match the current trends through code, as well as created email templates for the company.
I wish to create gratifying and meaningful experiences through design by leveraging the knowledge and expertise that I have gained and the skills that I will acquire as I grow!
